Hi everybody!

The last six months were.. well… pretty crazy,….. I got one job after another – some even overlapped – and being a freelancer, ;) I usually take what I’m able to get, especially if I get offered such amazing opportunities like this year. So my progress on Mold was comparably trivial so far in 2015. Unfortunately….

…what’s new?


The second set progressed quite a lot and is pretty close to be finished. A few details here and there, the low res geometry and last but not least the characters are still on the todo list.Uzara_room_comp_v44_small


The third set (strictly speaking it is the first set you encounter in the game) is coming along as well… it’s basically as far as the second set and primarily misses the characters and some additional look development (it’s not good enough to show yet, obviously ;) )


and I’ve continued to work on the main character’s animations, this is the movie I use to test the cycles before everything gets implemented. Some clips (and all phonemes and emotions) are still missing, though.

production crunch report #7 —> prototypes

Hi everybody!

It took me almost two years to get to this point …ridiculous I know ;), but I’m very proud to be able to show off some in-game footage. The third prototype will be created in the next weeks, and will feature “almost final” graphics.. at least a good impression of how the game will look like.


/edit 140519: I downgraded the animated GIFs to 10fps and a smaller size…  (to save you guys some bandwidth and cpu cycles ;) )

MOSO #02 ——— “the stem” Part 2

Finally! After all the trouble (see post, and more to come ;) ), I can proudly present our first (of several) short makingOf movies!  We are planning to show the entire production process of certain elements of the game. In this case the 3D production of the protagonist.

We captured our screens during all 3D sessions up to this point (excluding some stuff from the very beginning), and edited/polished them down to a watchable and hopefully enjoyable format.

yay! ;)
ok, ok… he isn’t really 100%, but close… (some distinct details are still missing, so let’s say he is at 80%…. mhhh…well that doesn’t sound close at all ;) ), but it’ll have to do for now. Babette modeled the base character and walnut, I’ve modeled his “tools” and textured / shaded him.

here is a 360 lights test, the last step and final check of the shading process….
